High quality audio streaming, before available almost exclusively on Tidal, is now coming to other popular services. Lossless audio is now available to regular Amazon Music and Apple Music subscribers for no additional costs and is coming to Spotify later this year. As stated at Tidal’s support page, High Fidelity (HiFi) Sound requires 4.4x the bitrate of the highest Standard Definition streams and a steady Internet connection of 1.5 to 2 Mbps or more is required. Similar values can be assumed for the remaining services. As audio streaming is one of the most widespread types of internet traffic, it is important to take into account its potential increase with the recent addition of high quality sound to the most popular services.
