1Password’s new Password Secure Sharing Tool (Psst!) lets users share their username and password to a specific service via a secure link, even if the recipient is not a 1Password user. It can be useful when sharing e.g. a login for temporary projects with contractors or a Netflix password with children. The link can be set to expire after a certain amount of time or views. More importantly, what is shared, is a copy of the information at its current state. In case of the password change, it would need to be shared again using a different link. It solves the problem of password sharing using plain text sent via email or text for 1Password users.
Sharing confidential information, such as passwords, is a type of network traffic where not speed or latency, but encryption is essential. Knowledge about the unique QoS requirements can enable the routing algorithm to find the best route for such applications.
